These notes on Jemez Mountains fishing are excerpted from the Friends of Fenton Lake articles that appear in the After the Thunder newspaper published in Jemez Springs. They provide a window into Jemez fishing as a function of time and are reported twice a month.
NMDGF spring recent stockings in the Jemez included the Cebolla with 393 fish and the Brood (Kid’s) Pond with 451 fish the week of June 28. Water levels in our streams have been fluctuating with the monsoonal rainfall. At this time of year, the early fisher often catches the most fish.
